Cheri Crow, M.A., is the immediate past president of LDA-Greater Baltimore and co-founder of Right to Read-Maryland. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from La Roche College, and her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She has taught in public, and independent schools in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland and has completed over 300 continuing education units over the past 30 years.
Mrs. Crow has been the Learning Specialist at Krieger Schechter Day School for twelve years. She develops and supervises programs of academic support, runs the programs for individual assessment and standardized testing, teaches Study Skills, and offers direct tutorial sessions. She leads professional development sessions on Formative Assessment, Backward Design, Executive Function, Reading Comprehension, Learning Disabilities, and Language Processing for teachers, and Understanding Standardized Test Results and Organizing Your Middle Schooler for parents.
Mrs. Crow has tutored students for 20 years using programs such as Orton/Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell, Project Read, Kurzweil, Inspirations, and Dragon Naturally Speaking. She has developed educational games and workbooks that are used in the classroom and by tutors. Mrs. Crow has been a member and participant in programs of LDA, IDA, CHADD, Learning & the Brain, and IECA and is an active advocate for excellence in education.
