Jaclyn Paris is the creator of the patented FUNNY MIX® Superhero Phonics Game. After graduating with an Elementary/Special Education Degree from Duquesne University, she began her career teaching preschool. As a Special Educator in Baltimore County Public Schools, she found her passion for teaching reading skills to children with dyslexia. She followed her passion and taught children Phonics and Comprehension at The Highlands School in Harford County, MD., where she had the “aha” moment to combine Superheroes and Phonics into a game!
Jaclyn joined Right to Read Maryland because of her personal experience as a Special Educator. She realized her need to seek ADDITIONAL training to help children with dyslexia after they were not progressing. Jaclyn completed training in The Orton-Gillingham method of reading, writing, and spelling through The Dyslexia Tutoring Program. She is a Regional Leader for Decoding Dyslexia Maryland as well as a Board Member of The International Dyslexia Association, Maryland Branch.
