M. Therese (Terry) Kelly serves as Director and President of New Heights Center that she established in 1991, independent of the Lindamood Bell Learning Processes™ organization. A practicing Educational Therapist and inaugural member of the Lindamood Bell Research and Training Network, she earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Her graduate degree in Liberal Arts, with a concentration in behavioral sciences, was awarded from The Johns Hopkins University, May 1976. She holds an Advanced Professional Certification from the Maryland State Board of Education, January 1989 to Present.
She has taught in secondary schools in the Baltimore area (Mt. St. Joseph High School and Mercy High School) and in Norfolk, VA. Ms. Kelly was trained to provide the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes™ by Phyllis Lindamood at the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes™ Center in San Luis Obispo, CA, 1991. Ms. Kelly has presented seminars and trainings in the Baltimore-Washington area, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin and Montreal.
The American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and Towson University have provided Continuing Education Credits for her classes in Decoding/Encoding Skills, Comprehension Skills and Math Skills based on, but not limited to, the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes ™. Goucher College has given adjunct faculty status to Ms. Kelly to teach educators in the Masters of Education program both on and off campus. Ms. Kelly has edited the Fourth Edition of Dr. Spello (Phoenix Learning Resources, New York, New York), a spelling and reading foundations workbook. In 1998, Ms. Kelly was certified to offer the Fast ForWORD family of products. In 2002 she was certified to offer Phono Graphix.
